It was a beautiful day on Saturday October 22, 2022, the day started out cold and cloudy, but as soon as the sun came out it warmed up and the weather was perfect. On that perfect “fall weather” day, Neffsville hosted the first Fall Fun Day. The event was held from 9am to 12pm in the North Grove. It was open to the public and many families from the community came to have some fun.

We had activities and several fall themed games for the children to enjoy. One major attraction was the inflatable obstacle course where kids made their way through several obstacles in order to make it to the slide that was 12 feet high! We also had face or hand painting, pumpkin painting and a tricycle course. The Youth Group made up and helped with a few games for the children to play, like pumpkin bowling, a candy toss, leaf blowing and a hula hoop toss. Each child received a candy prize after playing a game. There was also a selfie station with some fun props. “What’s for Supper” food truck served amazing breakfast sandwiches and “Whistlin’ Cup Coffee Roasters” served delicious coffee and coffee drinks. There were also door prizes for families and welcome bags for the kids.

Several people from church shared their gifts to help out and I am very grateful for them! Darlene and Al Hein, Terry and Jeff Pierce, Judy and Steve Landis, Twila and Galen Sauder, Deb Smith, Phil Chapman, Marlene Weaver, Melissa and Ava Wissler, Melinda Herr, Aaron Long, Lyle, Annika, and Marshall Hershey, and Joan Denlinger.

The kids seemed to enjoy all of the activities and games we had planned for them! They also loved collecting as much candy as they could at each game. Thanks to Dean Smith for capturing some photographs of the kids having lots of fun!

The most exciting, but unexpected part of the day was afterwards, we received some very positive feedback from a mom who attended the event with her children stating, “My four children had a terrific time doing the cute activities, eating candy and jumping on the inflatable. Best of all, everyone was extremely kind and friendly.” Praise Jesus!

It was a great day, and I am looking forward to hosting the event again next year!
