Jr. High Fall Retreat

Jr High Fall retreat

It was raining AGAIN! Everyone was hoping the Jr. High retreat would be the weekend it didn’t rain, but that was not the case. We woke Saturday morning to rain falling, changing the afternoon plans to go to a state park to go swimming. But we still had a great time. And then, at about 1:00 p.m., the rain stopped so we quickly loaded the bus and went to Cowan’s Gap State Park, where some went swimming in the cool weather, but warm water. We all went on a hike around the lake and enjoyed a great afternoon of no rain. God had blessed us with a great afternoon.

The retreat serves as the kickoff of our Jr. High year. We want to build relationships and also introduce the theme for the year. This year’s theme is "Discovering and Understanding the Bible." II Timothy 3:16-17 says: all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. This passage also affirms our vision of equipping all generations to be more like Jesus.

As leaders of the Jr. High we pray that we will equip our youth through God’s word for every good work that He has for them.
