Our mission at Neffsville Mennonite Church is to create a space for children to learn, play, and meet Jesus. We are committed to caring for each child and providing them with a safe space. We hope that each child will meet Jesus through Sunday school lessons, mentorship with teachers and leaders, games and laughter at Wednesday Night Out clubs, and friendships with other children.
During Sunday School and worship, infants through age 4 are cared for by childcare volunteers. A Child Protection Policy (see summary here) and screened volunteers ensure that children are kept safe during Sunday school and worship. We provide various activities for children. Together Time runs for 15 minutes before Sunday school where children of all ages listen to stories, sing, and play games. Sunday school is a time for children and ask questions and learn about God. During the church service we provide children’s kits, children’s bulletins, and a children’s story during the service.
Our kid's favorite time is Wednesday Night Out (WNO) Clubs. Running September through April, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., the sessions provide fun games, biblical teaching, activities, and a snack for the children. This is often their favorite time to invite friends. Kids’ Club (age 4-gr. 2), Girls’ Club, and Boys’ Club (gr. 3 -5). See the Youth Ministry page for Jr. High and Sr. High activities.
NOTE: Due to the coronavirus many of these programs have been temporarily suspended. We look forward to the time we can welcome all our children back to learn together about Jesus! For now a dedicated group of volunteers are teaching our children in a "children's church" setting. The children are dismissed from the service just before the sermon to an outdoor setting for lessons and activities geared for them.
