Youth: Any student grades 5-12.
Jr. High = grades 5-8 | Sr. High = grades 9-12
All Youth are welcome all the time!!
Youth Group: Sunday Evenings - 6:30-8pm*
Come to youth group to hang out with other youth, eat snacks, play games, and engage in a Bible lesson together.
Jr. High meets downstairs in Room 8. Sr. High meets at the Journey House.
* On the 1st Sunday of each month, we meet together in the church kitchen at 6pm to eat dinner together.
Sunday School: Sunday mornings 8:45-9:45 am
All youth meet together in Room 8 to catch up and spend some time in the scripture that will be used in the sermon during the service which follows at 10 am. This helps prepare our hearts and minds for the words that will be preached, and provides some context for the text that will be used.
Retreats & Service Trips:
Each year, the youth go on several retreats/trips away:
- Combined Fall Retreat/Weekend Away
- Combined Winter Retreat (usually at a Christian retreat center in the mountains for a weekend in January or February)
- Sr. High Summer Service Trip: Each summer, the high school students have the opportunity to go somewhere to serve and to learn about the community they serve. Every few years, we go on an international trip, and in the years between, we go somewhere within driving distance. This trip is 5-10 days long.
Additional:
Our Youth Group aims to do at least one fun thing a month together. These activities have included bowling, game nights, movie nights, mini-golf, parties & more! We are always looking for new ideas!
Supervision/Leadership:
In addition to the Associate Pastor, our youth program is served by several Youth Advisors. Youth Advisors are adults who have passed background checks and undergone SafeChurch certification who help plan, teach, and invest in the lives of our youth.
Mentorship:
Each youth who wants one is paired with a SafeChurch certified adult in the church to be their mentor. The purpose of the mentor-mentee relationship is to provide the youth with someone to talk to who isn’t their parent/guardian or family member - someone who isnt required to talk to them, but still wants to. This program includes 2 group activities per year.
